Formulating the price of Vibrant Sweat

Let's chat about Vibrant Sweat.  As I've said before, we should be able to work backwards from the current price of ME and the current price of Force Nexus, to get to a probable pecs-per-bottle value of Sweat.  However, we do need to make a buck, so profit must be reflected in this calculation too.

For now, it is safe to say that the last 50 items of ME sold on auction is decent, so let's use that average from our statistics.

Here's our starting sheet:

Although we know that Vibrant Sweat isn't technically 0 TT, let's assume so to keep this calculation simple.  If you want to contest the TT value of sweat...  stack 10000 units of sweat into any trade terminal.  It's worth more than zero :)

Ideally, let's say I want my ME receipts to look like this:

But here's what I want to pay for Force Nexus:

I know I had said before that we can calculate the price of sweat easily.  However, this is only really viable if we can peg our profit margin.  Therefore, peg it against the price of refining your ME.  Our constants, will be the average prices as reported by the [Market Board].

Let's assume that we want to make a set 10% profit on all our sales of ME, and we want to figure out what our budget is to buy sweat at:

Here's what we know already...

  1. We want to sell x amount of units
    (eg. 2000)
  2. We can sell ME at 470%
    (eg. 2000 x 0.01 PED x 470% = 94.00 PED)
  3. We can buy Nex at 126%
    (2000 x 0.01 PED x 126% = 25.20 PED)
  4. We want to set our markup at 10% of the ME sale price
  5. It will cost us 0.40 PED (in refiner decay) to refine 2000 units of ME
    (40 clicks at 1 pec/click)

Let's calculate
So, if we can sell 2K ME (94.00 PED at market rate), minus our profit of the ME sale (9.40 PED), then subtract the total NEX cost (25.20 PED), minus the total cost to refine (0.40 PED), that would leaves us with 59.00 PED.

Lastly, divide 59.00 PED by 2000 units, and we have: 0.0295 PEDs per bottle (or as it is more commonly referred to: 2.95 pecs per bottle).  Of course, if you can buy your sweat at less than 2.95p/b, it would be a bonus.
